Myanmar Wedding Photography
In Myanmar (Burma), there’s a saying, “Three things: Getting married, building a pagoda and getting tattooed – these need to be fully thought through before beginning, for it’s almost impossible to re-do them in the future.”
There is a real magic about Myanmar and something genuine which is fading in much of Southeast Asia. Covering a wedding at Inle Lake was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have captured.
Myanmar Wedding Venues:
“Outrageously Beautiful” Inle Lake is surrounded by high plateaus and misty mountains. This place with its shimmering waters provides a true taste and colour of Old Burma. Famous for its leg rowers, it is home to the Intha people, houses are raised high on stilts and flowers and vegetables are grown in picturesque floating gardens.
Inle Princess Resort is an ideal wedding venue. Designed as per the local history and culture of the Shan province of Myanmar, it blends harmoniously in its surrounding landscape. One of the most beautiful hotels in Myanmar, it is perched high on stilts & open out over fields, mountains and the Inle Lake itself.
The Bagan Hotel is located in Old Bagan, which houses one of the most interesting cultural heritages of Myanmar. Thousands of ancient pagodas spread across rust-coloured plains flanked by the meandering Ayeyarwaddy River.
108 dark one-storey teakwood buildings with inlaid sculptures of mythical figures are connected to each other via brick pathways, exuding a feeling of timelessness. The Thit Sa Wa Concert Hall can accommodate up to 250 guests for a wedding.
