Mark & Mariesa | Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Phang Nga

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Wedding in Phang Nga

Mark & Mariesa married at the stunning Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Thailand, by Phang Nga wedding photographer Aidan Dockery.
Mariesa’s mother, originating from Thailand, ensured Mark didn’t get off lightly. The day kicked off with traditional Thai door games, challenging him to win his bride!
The morning of their wedding on Koh Yao Yai looked a little stormy, but as always, the sun broke through and shined all day for their wedding. Meet one very smiley couple!

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa is a distinctive resort in Thailand. The resort provides a genuine exclusivity, with only boat activity near the adjacent pier. The name “Santhiya Resort” derives from the Thai words meaning “natural” and “beauty,” positioning it as a luxury beach eco-resort. Located in Loh Pared on the island’s southwest coast, the property features a sloping white sandy beach and opened its doors in 2012.
I love the layout of Santhiya Koh Yao Yai, and the photo opportunites it offers. Spread across 38 acres, the wooden villas blend into the natural landscape. The resort is on Loh Pared Beach and offers cozy accommodations, an outdoor pool, and various dining options.
Chantara Restaurant features Thai cuisine against the backdrop of the Andaman Sea. Saaitara Restaurant, perched high above Phang Nga Bay, provides stunning panoramic views. The Titan Grill provides outdoor beachfront dining. On the beachfront, the Sea Restaurant & Bar serves Thai, seafood, and international dishes. More dining options include SaaiTara Restaurant, located on the hill by an infinity pool, and Khantok Thai Cuisine.
Accessible by car and speed boat, the resort is a 50-minute journey from Phuket International Airport. The route includes a 30-minute drive from the airport to Ao Po Grand Marina Pier and a 20-minute boat ride to the property.

Koh Yao Yai Island

Unlike many Thai islands, Koh Yao Yai remains untouched by excessive development and mass tourism. Local trades like fishing and farming thrive, particularly in rubber, coconuts, and cashew nuts.
Koh Yao Yai may not be your destination if you’re seeking a vibrant party scene. The island offers a relaxed lifestyle. It invites you to enjoy empty sandy beaches. You can explore its beauty on bicycles. Local operators offer boat trips, diving excursions, and off-roading adventures. These activities are for those seeking adventure.
The majority of Koh Yao Yai’s population, about 90%, follows the Muslim faith. So, finding alcohol and pork dishes outside resorts can be more challenging.

How to get to Santhiya Koh Yao Yai from Phuket

Use the resort’s exceptional speedboat transfer to ensure a smooth and pleasant trip to Santhiya Koh Yao Yai. The transfer departs from Ao Po Grand Marina on Phuket’s northeast coast.
The shared transfer operates five times a day during peak season, ensuring convenient options for guests. The journey from Ao Po Grand Marina to Santhiya Koh Yao Yai takes 20 minutes.
Pricing for a one-way transfer from Ao Po Grand Marina to the resort is 900 THB, while a through-transfer from Phuket Airport is available at 1250 THB. Potential discounts may apply.
Private transfers are an option for personalized experiences. Additionally, they are an alternative option.
