Luxurious resorts to majestic temples. Thailand offers an array of stunning locations. There is so much choice and diversity; every Thailand wedding is unique.
From the bustling city of Bangkok to the tropical islands of the south, there are endless locations for your wedding celebration. Popular destinations such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Hua Hin, and Bangkok each offer a unique charm.
Explore other locations such as Koh Phangan, Koh Kood, Koh Chang, Koh Samet, Chiang Rai, Ayutthaya, Pattaya, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Yao Noi, and more for an unforgettable Thailand wedding experience.
Phuket is an exceptional wedding destination. Nestled in the Andaman Sea, this tropical island boasts some of Thailand’s most stunning beaches. Breathtaking landscapes add to the atmosphere, making it an ideal location for a destination wedding.
For me, Phuket is the most stylish of Thailand’s wedding destinations. Some of my favorite resorts are on this island, and being a Phuket wedding photographer is always a thrill!
Phuket offers various venues, from luxurious resorts and villas to traditional Thai temples. The island’s vibrant culture and delicious cuisine add to the Phuket wedding experience. Be sure to try some Khao Gaeng!
Koh Samui, an island in the Gulf of Thailand, has idyllic beaches, lush tropical landscapes, and luxurious resorts. Samui is an ideal location for a destination wedding.
The island offers various venues, from private beachfront villas to romantic garden settings. Its crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and stunning sunsets make beautiful wedding photographs.
Koh Samui is my favorite destination for a Thailand wedding. It has a bit of everything big enough to explore, yet it still keeps that island feel. Koh Samui’s unique airport means you’re smiling as soon as you arrive!
Krabi has picturesque beaches, limestone cliffs, and turquoise waters. But it also has a more laid-back feel than other Thailand wedding destinations.
I have always loved photographing Krabi destination weddings, from Tubkaek Beach to Ao Nang to Railay Beach. It feels more intimate to me in Krabi, and the limestone karsts and traditional Thai longtail boats add to the ambiance.
Krabi offers a variety of venues, from luxurious beachfront resorts to private villas. Its stunning natural scenery includes the famous Railay Beach and Phi Phi Islands
Located on the west coast of Thailand, Hua Hin offers a perfect combination of serene beaches, lush tropical gardens, and grand palaces. There is a wealth of beautiful settings for Thailand weddings in Hua Hin.
I love the laid-back feeling and the proximity to the capital! Don’t only look at Hua Hin; I have also photographed Thailand weddings in Cha-Am to the north and Pranburi in the South.
Hua Hin boasts a range of wedding venues. From grand ballrooms in luxurious hotels to beachfront pavilions with stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand. The stunning natural beauty creates a perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photos.
Bangkok is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that blends modernity with traditional Thai culture. This combination creates a unique atmosphere for a wedding in Thailand.
Bangkok is home to me, so I always love photographing Thailand weddings in the capital! It blends the best of all the regions and has its own style.
The city’s iconic landmarks, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and the Chao Phraya River, add a touch of grandeur to any wedding ceremony in Bangkok.
I don’t photograph Thailand weddings to win awards, but receiving recognition is always flattering!
Over the last decade, I have photographed over 200 weddings in Thailand. Most of my professional awards have come from Thailand weddings, which are spectacular.
Thailand has 1430 islands! Choosing the right island for your wedding can become complicated due to the many available options. What time of year are you having your Thailand wedding? Do you want to party before or relax after? The options are endless, but I’ll break it down for you.
The largest islands, also the most accessible and popular, are Phuket and Koh Samui. Both have international airports and offer high-end weddings. There are many opportunities for events before your wedding and relaxing after your celebrations.
Phuket boasts the best resorts in Thailand. Look at Trisara Resort Phuket or Rosewood Phuket for their international quality weddings.
Koh Samui has the premier villas, and the number one villa in Thailand is the luxurious Villa Kalyana. At the island’s Southern tip, Kalyana escapes the tourists and has a private beach for beautiful wedding photography.
Next to Koh Samui, my first choice for a Thailand island wedding would be Koh Phangan. It is an extra step to get to stunning scenery and a great choice of wedding venues. Whether you want to experience the Full Moon Party or indulge in vegan food after your yoga class, Koh Phangan has it all. Contact Koh Phangan Weddings for more information.
Koh Tao is similar but smaller and a little further away. Contact Forever Lovestruck for more information on having your Thailand wedding on Koh Tao.
Koh Lanta is the most chilled of the larger Thai islands. It has a slow pace, a fascinating history, and one of the best resorts in Thailand, The Pimalai.
Also in Krabi province is Railay Beach. Although not an island, this peninsula is only accessible by boat, so it has an island feel. Rayavadee is a stunning, sprawling resort with access to all three beaches.
The legendary Koh Phi Phi is not far from Phuket but also in Krabi province. Many aspects of the island cater to gap year students, yet the North East coast has some of the finest sands of any Thai beach. Zeavola Resort is a luxury resort located on Koh Phi Phi Don in Thailand. Zeavola Resort has a stunning beachfront location and luxurious accommodations.
Heading further towards Phuket but also in Krabi province is Koh Yao Noi, the smaller Yao siblings. The scenery of Krabi Bay is majestic from Six Senses Hideaway, the premier wedding venue on the island. Koh Yao Yai also has a top resort in Santhiya, which is a beautiful Thailand wedding venue.
I married on Koh Samet! Despite being one of the closest islands to Bangkok, wedding couples must take note of it. It may not have the same quality as some of the larger islands, but as we did, you could book out one of the smaller resorts and have a whole bay for your wedding!
Not far away is Koh Chang, the largest of 3 islands near Cambodia. The other two, as beautiful, are Koh Kood, and between the two lies Koh Mak. Any of these islands in The Ko Chang Marine National Park, which holds 40 islands, would be a perfect Thailand wedding destination. You can fly to Trat and spend the night in a pleasant Thai town or drive down from Bangkok and take the boat.
There are over 1,000 other Thai islands for your destination wedding. If you can find a willing wedding planner, you can have your wedding anywhere! I’m already willing and waiting to photograph your wedding. The more diverse the island, the better!
