Ko Chang, Thailand’s third-largest island in the Gulf of Thailand, is a top wedding destination. ‘Elephant Island’ combines dense jungle, hiking trails, and waterfalls within Mu Ko Chang National Park. It retains a remote and rugged character, ideal for beautiful wedding photogrpahy.
Ko Chang offers diverse landscapes, from jungle-covered mountain peaks to sweeping bays and coral reefs. As part of the Mu Ko Chang National Park, it is a sought-after destination for couples seeking a picturesque wedding backdrop. With 70% of its area covered in rainforests, mountains, and beaches, Koh Chang features the highest peak, Khao Salak Phet.
Here are my 4 best Koh Chang wedding venues, and some options from Koh Kood and Koh Mak.

The Retreat Koh Chang

I love The Retreat Koh Chang because it embodies the pinnacle of beachfront luxury on this beautiful island. Situated between Kai Bae beach and a quaint fisherman village, it’s my top choice for a wedding venue on Koh Chang. The awe-inspiring views of the Gulf of Thailand add an extra layer of magic.

Santhiya Tree Koh Chang Resort

Santhiya Tree Koh Chang Resort is an idyllic wedding venue nestled in the charming neighborhood of Klong Prao Beach. Breathtaking Klong Prao Beach offers the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

How to Get to Ko Chang and Get Around?

Transport options from Bangkok to Koh Chang vary based on budget and travel preferences. For a quick but pricey choice, consider flying with Bangkok Airways. For those on a budget, take a bus from Ekkamai Bus Station to a mainland pier in Laem Ngop for approximately 260 Baht (around 6 EUR).
On Koh Chang, the primary transport is the songthaew (pick-up truck taxi). Or, you can rent a motorbike for 150–250 Baht per 24 hours, providing your driving license and passport.
To escape the Koh Chang crowds, explore the less developed and isolated eastern side. For this, having your own transport, such as a rented scooter, is essential due to limited public options. Discover local life around fishing villages and hidden waterfalls for a more peaceful experience.
