Thrilling Motorbike Wedding Adventure in Northern Vietnam

Thuy and Digby’s incredible motorbiking wedding trip in far North Vietnam. Pan Hou Village Ecolodge, hidden at the heart of the High Song Chay mountains, Ha Giang province offers some of the most striking sceneries in Vietnam.
Digby is the owner of Explore Indochina, a motorbike adventure tour company that guided the Top Gear team through Vietnam. He also co-founded the notorious Minsk Club, when not exploring the stunning scenery in Vietnam, can be found refueling on craft beer at Standing Bar in Hanoi.
Thuy & Digby organized 70 guests, 35 motorbikes & 4 jeeps from Hanoi to Lao Cai on the China border, for their Motorbike Wedding. After an overnight train journey, we met our own new form of transport for the day’s ride to Hoang Su Phi. A rainy start didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm and the sun come out on their motorbike wedding day and kept shining for their honeymoon ride back to Hanoi. Without a doubt, one of the most unique and spectacular wedding trips I have ever had the pleasure of joining!

Pan Hou Village Ecolodge

Panhou is derived from the name of Ban Ho – a God sent from heaven to help Binh Vuong King protect our land and the Dzao people from invaders.
After the victory, Ban Ho was granted marriage to the King’s daughter and became the next King (Ban Vuong King). Together, they had 12 children (6 boys & 6 girls), and their children became the ancestors of today’s 12 branches of the Dzao people.
Ban Vuong King is known for his rustic lifestyle and devotion to his people. He greatly contributed to laying the foundation and nourishing the Dzao culture. Today, Panhou Retreat continues the King’s legacy by preserving nature, honoring local culture, and supporting the local economy.
