Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle Elopement Wedding

Billy & Viv’s incredible elopement wedding at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle near Chaing Rai in Thailand.
Their journey began in Vancouver, Canada, and spanned thousands of miles to arrive at the luxurious Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai, Thailand. We started with a tranquil boat ride along the Namkhong River, taking in the breathtaking scenery. After the peaceful journey, we continued to the charming town of Chiang Saen, where they received a special blessing from the local monks.
Later in the day, the adventure continued with a majestic elephant ride up to a breathtaking viewpoint. After the ride, we met at the Burma Bar to enjoy some refreshing cocktails while taking in the picturesque views of the Ruak River basin and Elephant Camp. There was a gentle breeze and soft music playing in the background, making it a perfect way to unwind after a day filled with excitement and adventure!

Chiang Rai Thailand

Chiang Rai is a captivating city located in northern Thailand, nestled in the mountainous province of the same name. It shares borders with Laos and Myanmar (formerly Burma). One of the city’s notable attractions is Wat Phra Kaew, a royal temple that once housed the precious jade Emerald Buddha. While the original statue is now in Bangkok, Chiang Rai’s Wat Phra Kaew showcases a replica and boasts exquisite architecture.
Nearby, you’ll find the Navel City Pillar, a monument made up of over 100 Khmer-style pillars. This significant landmark holds cultural and historical significance and symbolizes the center of the city. Exploring the area provides insight into the rich heritage of Chiang Rai. Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park is a must-visit museum that displays a wide range of Lanna artifacts. Situated within the beautiful Mae Fah Luang Gardens
Chiang Rai’s vibrant night markets, such as the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, provide a delightful experience of local crafts, street food, and lively atmosphere. The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) is another iconic landmark renowned for its intricate and contemporary architectural design.

The Golden Triangle

Did you know that the Golden Triangle region is also home to a number of fascinating and unique animals? One of the most famous is the Irrawaddy dolphin, which can be found in the Mekong River that flows through the region. These dolphins are known for their round heads and short, blunt snouts, and they are considered a critically endangered species.
But it’s not just dolphins that call the Golden Triangle home. The region is also home to a variety of other animals, including elephants, tigers, and leopards, as well as a wide range of bird species. In fact, the area is a popular destination for birdwatchers from around the world who come to catch a glimpse of some of the region’s rare and exotic species.
Of course, the Golden Triangle is also known for its association with the drug trade, but even this has a certain level of intrigue and excitement. If you’re feeling brave, you can take a tour of some of the opium dens that still exist in the region, or learn about the history of the drug trade and the smugglers who once roamed these hills.

Four Seasons Tented Camp

Nestled amidst a lush bamboo forest with breathtaking views of Myanmar and Laos, this luxury tented camp offers an idyllic retreat at the northernmost edge of Thailand. Inspired by 19th-century safari camps, its seclusion and the opportunity to engage with rehabilitated elephants are the camp’s main highlights. For those seeking to explore the surrounding area, off-site excursions like day visits to Myanmar or tailor-made Chiang Rai city tours are available.
As the sun begins to set, guests can unwind at Burma Bar, sipping on a refreshing cocktail while soaking in the jungle’s beauty. Later, a delectable dining experience awaits at Nong Yao Restaurant, an open-air pavilion with a charming thatched roof. The restaurant serves breakfast the following morning and presents two enticing set menus each evening. One menu features Western cuisine, while the other showcases the flavors of the region with Thai, Burmese, and Laotian specialties.
Indulge in a daily wine and cheese-tasting session to discover new flavors, or opt for private dining experiences such as picnics or a romantic candlelit dinner within the enchanting elephant camp. Every effort is made to create unforgettable culinary moments for guests to savor amidst the natural splendor of the camp.
